The Peace of God in You

What if?

There are two words that cause many problems for life.  “What if” If we would be able to eliminate those words, our level of stress would decrease. I mean consider all of the ways this comes up: "What if I get sick and my family needs me?  What if my car breaks down and I miss my important meeting?  What if I get robbed while walking downtown?" There are so many possibilities out there that our mind, if allowed to run free with all the possibilities, will run us ragged.  Yet, how many of these things can we actually control and how likely are these really to happen anyway?

Peace is Offered to You

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”  Philippians 4:6

The cure for anxiety is prayer.  God wants us to bring everything to Him in prayer and then leave it in His hands.  He is the one who can actually do something about it anyway! God is so gracious to us in this because not only will He take our anxiety from us, but He will then replace it with His peace.

“And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  - Philippians 4:7

Are you feeling anxious today?   Take it to the Lord in prayer and receive His perfect peace.

How do I receive peace with God?

You will never have the peace of God in your life until you have peace with God through Jesus Christ.  Beginning a relationship with Jesus Christ involves a simple act of faith.  Sin has separated us from God, but God loved us so much that He sent Jesus Christ to pay for our sins.  This allowed us to be forgiven for our sins and purchased a place for us in heaven with Him.  Receiving Him is a simple confession - "That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9

To start a relationship with Jesus Christ:

1. Admit your need.  (I have sinned against God)

2. Be willing turn from your sins.  (This is called repentance, a big word which means that we decide to no longer let our own sinfulness lead us, but we turn instead to Christ.)

3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave. (This is not just knowledge that Jesus did that but a placing of your trust in Him for you.)

If He is calling you today, go to Him in prayer and receive Jesus for you.  And then please reach out to us, so we can support you in this new life.
