Do you want to get baptized?
We are excited to be able to host another baptism service this summer. These have always been a highlight for us as we see people take a step of obedience to Jesus Christ.
Jesus introduced water baptism in connection with His Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19). He said that new disciples were to be baptized. This is a sign of being a follower of Him.
Baptism for Believers
In the New Testament times, baptism followed repentance and faith. Peter invited his listeners on the day of Pentecost to “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38). Three thousand people responded to the invitation, and “those who accepted his message were baptized” (Acts 2:41)
We follow the same practice of baptism subsequent to conversion to Christ. Those who have repented of sin and put their faith in Jesus for eternal life are encouraged to take this step of obedience. We practice baptism by immersion.
What Does Baptism Mean?
Baptism identifies a person as a disciples of Christ and celebrates the passage from an old life into a new life in Christ. Simply stated, it is an outward sign of an inward change.
COVID-19 Considerations
This will be held outdoors at a home on the lake. Other details to come once we have people lined up for baptisms and a date picked.
If you are interested in being baptized, please contact us. A date for a baptism service has not been set yet. But, as I said already, we are always so thankful to be able to see people take this step. Now is the time!
