Stories capture our attention making them powerful teaching tools. If you read through the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke John), you will find Jesus often teaching people using parables. Parables provides us truth in a compelling and mind stimulating way.
Of course the parables of Jesus are stories he told that often made a lot more sense to those there at that time. Therefore, some of them can be challenging for us to really grasp.
For 15 weeks, we are going to take a look at some of the parables of Jesus in the book of Luke. Here are the ones we are covering:
July 16th - The Wise and Foolish Builders (Luke 6:46-49)
July 30th - The Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:1-15)
August 6th - The Lamp and the Light (Luke 8:16-18, 11:33-36)
August 20th - The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)
August 27th - The Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-21)
September 3rd - Worry (Luke 12:22-34)
September 10th - The Narrow Gate (Luke 13:22-29)
September 17th - The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)
October 1st - The Shrewd Manager (Luke 16:1-15)
October 22nd - The Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31)
October 29th - The Persistent Widow (Luke 18:1-8)
November 5th - The Pharisee and the Tax Collector (Luke 18:9-14)
November 12th - The Ten Minas (Luke 19:11-27)
November 19th - The Tenants (Luke 20:9-19)
November 26th - The Fig Tree (Luke 21:29-36
